Stacking the Shelves (12) and Vlog (9)

Stacking the Shelves is a weekly meme hosted by Tynga's Reviews to showcase any books that I have received for review, bought, borrowed, or won to read.

Sorry about my shlumpiness in this vlog, but I just couldn't be bothered, to be honest!

As I mentioned in my vlog, this will be the last book haul/vlog post I will do for a while, as I am going to be making a more concerted effort at reducing the number of books I take in. I want to make a dent in the books I already have to read on my shelf as I will be going back to school again in the fall and won't be able to take those books with me.

For Review:
The Originals by Cat Patrick (Thanks to Hachette Book Group Canada!)
Icons by Margaret Stohl (Thanks to Hachette Book Group Canada!)
The 5th Wave by Rick Yancey (Thanks to Penguin!)
The Pirate's Wish by Cassandra Rose Clarke (Thanks to Strange Chemistry!)

Bought:
Requiem by Lauren Oliver
Clockwork Princess by Cassandra Clare

Won:
The End Games by T. Michael Martin

Posts mentioned:
My review of Requiem
My review of Clockwork Princess
The End Games ARC Giveaway

  3. So many awesome books this month! I'm seriously looking forward to what you have to say about The 5th Wave and Icons, because they both sound amazing. I don't think I've seen your review on Requiem yet. Having loved the previous two in the series, it was disappointing that many trusted reviewers didn't feel the same for the last book, so I'll be off to check yours out and see what you thought.

I hope you enjoy The End Games! It was pretty enjoyable for me. Have a lovely week, Aylee. :)

  4. The Originals sounds interesting. I haven't read anything by the author yet, but I know I need too. She has a lot of books that always stand out when I read the summary. Hope you enjoy it!

I'm planning on reading more of my own books this summer too.

  7. Some great new books here. New follower here! I have never read Rick Yancy before, but now I will have to take a look for his books. :)
I fully understand about needing to take time off to read books you already had. I myself got WAY over my head the past two weeks with new books, of which you are welcome to see. Here are my newest additions

  8. I added the End Games this week, too, I've heard some pretty good things. I can't wait to get a hold of the Originals. It looks awesome.

  10. Icons! The Fifth Wave! You got so many fabulous books!

Requiem's ending was definitely a bit disappointing. The ending was too open to be satisfying.

    Hope you enjoy everything!

  11. I'm going to miss your vlogs dearly! But anyway, I'm so so excited to see what you think if The 5th Wave, Icons, and the Originals! I'm going to have to check out Rick Yancey's other books since you love them so much. I still need to read the Delirium trilogy, yikes! But lovely books this week, Aylee! <3 happy reading.

  13. You've got some great books in your mailbox! Loved both Clockwork Princess and Requiem. I'm curious to find out how Icons is written in comparison to the Beautiful Creatures series. Happy reading!:)

  14. Awww I'm going to miss your vlogs, though I can definitely relate: I haven't done a StS since early March! Put myself on a deadly book buying ban and I was only getting like 1 review copy a week so it felt pointless to keep doing up posts! I actually may do one next week since my cousin gifted me tons of books last week :D

Anyways, moving on. I loved your usage of Hunger Games lingo ♥ hihih and your book haul was indeed very sweet! Icons is one I am looking forward to quite a bit even though I'm ashamed to say I've never read anything by Margaret Stohl O.O ...or Rick Yancey for that matter - Eeek! The Assassin's Curse is a series I want to get into as soon as possible, cause it looks brilliant and right up my alley!! Alright so enough rambling from me, congrats on the ALL the books in your sweet haul Aylee & happy reading ♥

  15. I have heard some seriously awesome things about the 5th Wave and I can't wait for your review of it!!

And you just reminded me that I kind of need to make one of these too. LOL

Anyway, I'm with you on the reducing the number of books taken in, I got a pile of books that I own and haven't read and a pile of egalleys on my reader that need to be read, and it's like I got so much to read I don't even know where to start :/

  16. Haha your hair doesn't look bad at all! :)

I think The Originals sounds awesome! I really enjoyed Forgotten by Cat Patrick. She really does have such unique ideas!

I haven't actually heard a ton about the 5th Wave. I'll have to go look it up!

Requiem FINALLY came in from the library for me. I can't wait to read it! I'll have to see how I feel about the open ended ending.

I hope you have a great week Aylee. :D

  18. Oooo I've been hearing such good things about The 5th Wave Aylee! Can't wait to see what you think of that one. Aliens aren't normally my thing, but I'm dying to get my hands on it and see what all the fuss is about. I'm super excited for Icons as well! Enjoy:)

  20. I'm reading The Pirate's Wish at the moment and really enjoying it, even though I don't quite like it as much as the first yet. I'm looking forward to seeing what you think about Icons! It didn't really work for me overall, but there were a handful of parts that I liked. And I hope you enjoy The 5th Wave! I loved it, as you know. I definitely need to try The Monstrumologist soon. :)

I loved watching your vlog! Your accent is so cute. ;)

  22. I think I need to read The Infernal Devices series. I've heard good things about it. Have you officially been accepted into grad school? that's exciting! Does it mean you have to move? How are you appreciating my interrogation? Breath. I hope you enjoy all your books.

    Happy Reading!

    1. Ahaha, that's okay, interrogate away! I like that rhyme.

I was accepted and so will be moving to Toronto in the fall. Well, specifically Mississauga because I will be at the Mississauga campus of U of T. I'm scared of leaving home, but also excited for more author events!
