Waiting On Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Jill of Breaking The Spine in which an upcoming, eagerly anticipated release is highlighted on the blog. This week Bumped by Megan McCafferty, coming out April 26, 2011 from HarperTeen:
Description (from Goodreads): When a virus makes everyone over the age of eighteen infertile, would-be parents are forced to pay teen girls to conceive and give birth to their children, making teens the most prized members of society.
Sixteen-year-old identical twins Melody and Harmony were separated at birth and had never met until the day Harmony shows up on Melody’s doorstep. Until now, the twins have followed completely opposite paths. Melody has scored an enviable conception contract with a couple called the Jaydens. While they are searching for the perfect partner for Melody to bump with, she is fighting her attraction to her best friend Zen, who is way too short for the job.
Harmony has spent her whole life in religious Goodside, preparing to be a wife and mother. She believes her calling is to bring Melody back to Goodside and convince her that “pregging” for profit is a sin. But Harmony has secrets of her own that she is running from.
When Melody is finally matched with the world-famous, genetically flawless Jondoe, both girls’ lives are changed forever. A case of mistaken identity takes them on a journey neither could have ever imagined, one that makes Melody and Harmony realize they have so much more than just DNA in common.
I'm really on a dystopian kick lately it seems. My first WOW was Matched (released today!) and my second was Delirium. All three of these seem like great YA dystopian reads with similar themes. Which one are you most excited to read, Matched, Delirium, or Bumped?

Fabulous choice Aylee! I'm really excited for this one as well, dystopian novels are definitely growing on me and I find myself looking for more and more of them:) I personally adored Matched, it was one of my favorite reads this year, and I'm looking forward to Delirium, so this one seems to be right up my alley!
ReplyDeleteYes, I'm having a hard time deciding which one out of the three I want to read more!
ReplyDeleteMatched was great, but I am totally looking forward to Delirium! Bumped looks cute! The cover seems kinda cutesy for the topic though?!
ReplyDeleteHmm, yeah I can see your point, it is perhaps too silly for the story.
ReplyDeleteGreat pick! I'm really into dystopian lately too! (Psst - Delirium is on NetGalley!) The premise of this one is possibly the most disturbing I've seen. Can't wait to see how the author manages it!
ReplyDeleteCannot wait for this one either. I just adore the cover art. Great pick!
ReplyDeleteWow, I haven't read anything by McCaffery yet, although she's a favorite among eighth grade girls at my library. This one sounds very intriguing! Thanks for the heads up!

@Casey: I'm not on NetGalley yet! I feel weird signing up for it when I've only been blogging for less than a month.
ReplyDelete@Jan: I can't wait either!
@proseandkahn: You're welcome! :)
Nice choice. You really are on a dystopian kick :P Hm, I think out of those three I'm most looking forward to Matched. I read Delirium and Bumped looks good, but I'm not dying for it.
ReplyDelete@Small Review: Agreed. Although this may be because Matched is already here so there is no waiting. That and all the hype!
ReplyDeleteThis looks really interesting! It sounds like a very interesting story.
ReplyDeleteMy WoW is Last Sacrifice
Great choice! I have this one on my TBR list also. I have already read Delirium (thank you netGalley!) and liked it... I am looking forward to both Matched and Bumped!
ReplyDeleteAylee! Isn't the premise for this book great?! I can't wait to have it in my hands!
ReplyDeleteI love a good dystopian! This one sounds fantastic (great choice). I enjoyed Matched and I'm looking forward to Delirium as well. :)
ReplyDelete@Aimee: Your WoW pick looks very good, as well!
ReplyDelete@Scoot: Dang, I have got to get on netGalley soon.
@Missie: Missie! Yes, the premise of the book is really great!
@Jessica: It seems like I can't get either of dystopians lately either!
Have you read Inside Out by Maria V Snyder? - that one is pretty good. Unwind by Neil Schusterman is also good. Maybe I'll just find you on Goodreads so I won't have to ask you if you've read something. lol
ReplyDeleteI haven't heard of this one - great pick! I've read several dystopians lately but need a break because while they're good they all seem to have such depressing endings! Is that a rule for dystopians? Oh well, I'd better find me some fun fluff!
ReplyDelete@Jessica: Thanks for the recs! I've added you on Goodreads.
ReplyDelete@Alyssa: I know what you mean! Mockingjay's ending haunted me for weeks afterward. Very heavy book.
Honestly, I really want to read all three of those books! I just picked up Matched from the Library today and I'm looking forward to starting it soon! However, if I had to pick the one that I'm most excited to read, it would have to be Delirium. I can't wait for it to come out!
ReplyDeleteWow, how did you manage to get Matched from the library so soon? You must have had to have been the first one on the waiting list. The waiting list at my library for Matched is so long!
ReplyDeleteI want! This sounds like a great book !!
ReplyDeleteJess :)
