Muggle Monday (9)

It's time for Muggle Monday, in which I post a quote, a video, or a significant piece of news from the Harry Potter franchise. This is somewhat inspired by the Mundane Monday posts by The Mundie Moms.

But let's be real as to why I made up this meme: I just want the opportunity to post something about Harry Potter.

It's been about three and a half months since I did a Muggle Monday post. I've missed it! I hope to do Muggle Monday once a week at least until Deathly Hallows Part II is released.

Speaking of which, the last movie is coming out in a month and a half (July 15th)! I cannot even tell you guys how much I am dreading this day. It's going to be the end of an era for me (no exaggeration). How can one sum up over a decade of this Harry Potter Experience? Well, Empire Magazine asked the Harry Potter actors to sum up their HP Experience in one word:

  1. I'm pretty sure I'm going to cry all through the final movie, not just because of how many of my favourite characters are going to die or be hurt but because, like you said, it's an end of an era. I think I'm going to feel a little lost after it finishes

  2. I'm kind of sad for the last film too, even though I don't really like the films, I guess it was still something to cling to

  3. Oh!! now I Want that magazine!!
I shall have to call my cousin in Tx and ask her to buy it for me - import magazines are way expensive here.

    And that video was awesome.

I can't wait for the movie!!!! I'm SOOO going at midnight, and my cousin (the texan one) said she might come down here to watch it with us.

  8. Aylee, you're making me all emotional. :P

First I was all "Yay! Muggle Monday is back!!"

And then I was all "Oh no, you're right, I AM going to be devastated when it's over."

And then it sunk in a little more and I was all "No, really, what am I going to do with that void???"

And then I watched the video and now I'm all *SOB*

  14. Alex, I think I'm going to have to go out and buy this Empire Magazine special too. It has a whopping page count devoted to the end of the HP franchise!
Blueicegal, yeah, Rupert is very cute :)
Kat, I thought the exact same thing! That really is Rupert's "go-to" word.
Is it strange/mean that it's bringing me pleasure that so many people are becoming emotional from this post? Muahahaha. But seriously, I'm very emotional about it too.

  16. I just snotted and cried all over because I am THAT much of a Harry Potter fan. I can't believe this part of my childhood is almost over. One day, I truly hope my children will love Harry Potter as I have because I grew up with him.

  17. Whoa, I didn't expect for such a short and seemingly simple video to be so...emotional. *sob*

    Thanks for sharing!

  18. It's so hard to explain the emotional connection to Harry Potter to people who never read the books, but I feel like that little video helped me sum it for myself so much. A tiny part of me never wants to see the last movie because I can't bare to say goodbye. Thanks so much for posting!

  19. Gah! that video put tears in my eyes. And I haven't even read the books.

Opps, I shouldn't have admitted that least I be banned from this site.

  20. Yup, it's still bringing me pleasure, making people tear up, cry, and sob. Don't worry though! I am too, dear readers. I am too.

Oh, and Missie, of course I knew that already. And if I haven't banned you yet then I won't ban you now. I may secretly judge you from time to time...
